Types of Sentences Declarative: A statement. EX: Specially trained dogs help people with disabilities. Interrogative: Asks a question. EX: What kinds of jobs do these dogs do? Imperative: Gives a command or makes a request, YOU are the implied subject. EX: Read this article about some heroic canines. Exclamatory: Shows strong feelings. Ex: How interesting this article is! That dog is amazing! Interjection: Word or group of words expressing strong feeling. It is not a complete sentence. EX: Wow! Oh, my!
